BELIZE

We conducted a very successful program in Belize.  Three of the local ophthalmologists participated in four days of intense training, including management of difficult patients and lectures. About 20 patients underwent corrective sight restoring surgery and the local eye doctors acquired skills and knowledge they can use for a lifetime.

 

During this trip, Drs. Stager and Lederman formed One World One Vision in order to expand care, particularly in developing countries.  We estimate that over seventy million individuals need surgical care for strabismus and childhood cataracts.  Training Ophthalmologists will increase by many multiples those individuals who will have access to that care.
